In this episode we dive into five of the common risk factors for addiction: genetics, age, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE), Trauma, and co-morbidity. Learn what all these risk factors mean and how they can contribute to a person's risk of developing an addiction. We will also talk about how addiction is often an attempt to treat these underlying conditions, and how certain medications/treatments are available to help a person with these risk factors who suffer from an addiction.
